The Império do Espírito Santo da Fonte do Bastardo, built in 1913, is located in the parish of Fonte Bastardo, Praia da Vitória. It is part of the Inventory of Historical and Religious Heritage of Praia da Vitória. The festivities take place from Easter Sunday to Trinity Sunday, with two “bodos”: Pentecost and Trinity. During this period, there is a drawing of lots, presentation of accounts, and appointment of new stewards. The insignias of the Holy Spirit remain in the home of a randomly selected emperor, following an annual circuit. After the coronation mass in the “bodos,” there is a distribution of bread and wine. In the afternoon, there is a gathering with snacks, wine, and music from the local philharmonic.
