The Império do Espírito Santo de São Luís is located in the parish of São Bento, municipality of Angra do Heroísmo. Built in 1893, this Império has 32 crowns of the Holy Spirit and 7 flags. The festivities occur on Pentecost Sunday and Trinity Sunday. Activities include the “ceia dos criadores,” blessing and distribution of meat, massa sovada, wine, daily rosary prayers, folklore performances, musical acts, cattle and calf shows, and cantorias ao desafio. The events feature lighting and a bazaar. On Sundays, the coronation processions, accompanied by a philharmonic band, head to the parish church for the festive mass. The celebrations end with a rope bullfight on Tuesday.
