The Sanjoaninas, festivals dedicated to S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o, fill the streets of Angra do Hero\u00edsmo for ten days in June. Processions, musical concerts, bullfights (in arenas or on ropes), food stalls offering local delicacies, theater performances, fireworks displays, and sports competitions reach their climax during the popular marches parade on the night of S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

\nPraia da Vit\u00f3ria Festival, held in the picturesque coastal town in August, offer an equally engaging experience with outdoor concerts, folk dances, and a variety of gastronomic and sporting events that celebrate Azorean culture in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.<\/p>\n
