The Império do Espírito Santo do Arco, located in São Bento, Angra do Heroísmo, was built in 1951. With 27 crowns and three flags, its festival takes place on the first Sunday of August. Before the coronation, there are events such as the “Ceia dos Criadores”, rosary prayers, folk and musical performances, Pezinho tocata, and distribution of sweet bread. The coronation procession heads to the Ermida de S. Luís, followed by the appointment of stewards for the next year. The festivities conclude with rope bullfights in the places of “Arco” and “Cambalim”.
