The Império dos Quatro Cantos, located in the parish of Sé, municipality of Angra do Heroísmo, celebrates annually the Feast of the Holy Spirit on Trinity Sunday. Founded in 1810 and rebuilt in 1916, the empire is maintained by a Brotherhood of about 50 caretaker brothers and numerous brothers-at-arms. A Festival Committee, elected annually, organizes a program that combines religious and cultural events, including daily rosaries, processions, musical performances, and activities for children. The festival culminates with the bodo and distribution of alms, ending on the Monday following Trinity Sunday.
