The Império do Espírito Santo da Feteira, also known as the Império do Divino Espírito Santo da Ponta Nova, is located in the parish of Feteira, in Angra do Heroísmo. It was built in 1928. It celebrates the Feast of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost and Trinity Sundays. The festivities include the transfer of the crowns to the Empire, recitation of the rosary, offering of meats, lunches, solemn coronation mass, processions accompanied by the philharmonic orchestra, distribution of bread, lunch for musicians, evening snacks, auctions, and presentation of the empire’s accounts. The empire’s commissions are elected every two years.
