The Brotherhood of the Holy Spirit of Porto Martins, founded in 1902, is an institution located in the parish of Porto Martins, Praia da Vitória. It annually holds the coronations of the Holy Spirit, which began in 1869, and possesses historical relics, such as a crown donated in 1882. After an earthquake in 1980, the empire was rebuilt with the help of the Regional Government and the community. The brotherhood acquired two new crowns in 1982 to preserve the old one and continues to hold traditional festivities, including the distribution of food.
