Fort of Santo António

The Fort of Santo António is situated in the parish of Porto Judeu, on the southeast coast of Terceira Island. It stands in a predominant position above this stretch of coastline, and was built to defend the Porto Judeu fishing port from pirate attacks, which used to occur frequently in this part of the Atlantic Ocean.
